About us |
The Outstanding Canadian Awards was formed by a group of community leaders, to select and honor outstanding leaders, successful professionals, and volunteers, from the Canadian communities and the visible minority groups, for their exemplary work and for their efforts in promoting diversity in Canada. The foundation’s members of the board feel strongly that Canadians, who voluntarily involve themselves in community activities to promote the welfare of others, deserve to be recognized and acknowledged. It promotes its motto of Canadians Honoring Canadians.
The first Outstanding Canadian Awards was held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in the year 2000.
The last presentation of awards was held at Sheraton Parkway Hotel in 2017 to commemorate the 150 years of Canadian Confederation.
The Outstanding Canadian Awards, an Ontario-registered- non-profit & volunteer-run entity, is being spearheaded by Ray Alix, Ontario Certified Teacher, OCT, a Toronto Catholic secondary school teacher, a former Scarborough Ward 14 Alderman (Councillor) candidate in 1982, a founding president of a Philippine-Canadian community group (Batangas Provincial Association of Canada) and a co-founding chairman of the Outstanding Canadian Foundation since 2000.
